Lynn Wetterhorn: Nursery/Kindergarten Teacher

Lynn received a Bachelor's Degree in Plant and Soil Science from the University of Vermont. She received a Master's Degree in Waldorf Early Childhood Education from Antioch New England Graduate School. Lynn worked as an assistant at our Nursery/Kindergarten from 1995 to 2002. Since the fall of 2002, Lynn has been a lead teacher at our Nursery/Kindergarten. She brings a wealth of experience as a parent educator and childcare provider to her classroom. In addition, Lynn is a skilled landscape designer. She lives in Spofford with her husband and two children.

Michelle Brooks: Nursery/Kindergarten Teacher

Michelle received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Anna Maria College and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley College. In 2006 Michelle completed the Waldorf Early Childhood Education program at Sunbridge College in New York. She was a founding teacher at the Village School in Royalston, Massachusetts. Michelle lives in Roxbury with her husband Glenn Mallet and their three children.

Marie Burns: Nursery/Kindergarten Teacher

Marie received a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Adolescent Behavior from San Francisco State University and a Master's in Education from Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene with both a Waldorf and public school certification. Marie did her student teaching internship with Monadnock Waldorf School and has also been a nanny, an after-care teacher, a camp counselor, and a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Marie lives in Keene.

Heather Power: Nursery/Kindergarten Teacher

Heather received a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Policy and Environmental Science from Boston University and a Master's in Education from Antioch New England Graduate School with both a Waldorf and public school certification. She was a Lead Teacher at Apples and Pears Nursery in Ann Arbor, MI from 1995- 1997. Heather has substituted in every grade at Monadnock Waldorf School from Parent Child Play Group to eighth grade. Since the fall of 2007, Heather has been a Lead Teacher at our Nursery Kindergarten. She lives in Fitzwilliam with her husband and two children.

Kirsten Archibald – First Grade Teacher 2010-2011

Kirsten received her Waldorf Teaching Certificate from Antioch New England Graduate School. She holds a bachelors degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and an MBA from Cornell University. Kirsten began her teaching career as a home-schooling leader using Waldorf-inspired curricula. Most recently, she was on the faculty of the Washington Waldorf School in Bethesda, Maryland, working as a German language teacher with students in grades seven through ten. Born in Germany, Mrs. Archibald has also lived in Iran, Indonesia, England, Zambia, South Africa, China and the United States. She has been invited regularly to share her international experiences with various classes at Washington Waldorf School. Kirsten lives in Keene with her husband Jeff and their two children.

Maggie Myers: Second Grade Teacher 2010-2011

Maggie received a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from the University of Georgia and Waldorf Teacher Training at Antioch New England Graduate School. Mrs. Myers has worked in MWS classrooms for 16 years: three years as a Kindergarten Assistant and 13 years as Class Teacher. Perhaps her warm classroom atmosphere reflects her past work as an Innkeeper! Spacial Dynamics movement education is one of Maggie’s many interests.

Alison Henry: Third Grade Teacher 2010-2011

Alison received her Bachelor’s Degree with honors from St. John’s College in Maryland. She received a Master of Science Degree in Education from Indiana University and a certificate in Waldorf Teacher Education from Antioch New England Graduate School. Alison taught English for five years in Mie Prefecture, Japan. She did her internship here with Monadnock Waldorf School and worked in the afternoon program before joining us last year as our first grade teacher. She lives in Keene with her husband and two children.

Tim Price: Fourth Grade Teacher 2010-2011

Tim received a Bachelor's Degree from the State University of New York and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Rockefeller College and a Master of Education with Waldorf Certification from Antioch New England Graduate School. Tim comes to us from the Upper Valley Waldorf School in Quechee, Vermont, where he took a class of students from first grade through eighth grade graduation in 2006.

Julia Kerr: Fifth Grade Teacher 2010-2011

Julia received a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Goucher College and has completed the Foundation Studies program. She has been at the Waldorf School of Princeton for the last seventeen years, first as a parent, then as an administrative assistant, teaching assistant, substitute teacher, special subject teacher, and as a class teacher for the last four years. She is an accomplished handwork teacher, a choral musician, and has been a mathematics teacher in grades four, six, and eight. Julia has three sons and a husband who has been a teacher and camp director. She enjoys being outdoors with children and sharing her enthusiasm for singing with others.

Monica Marshall: Sixth Grade Teacher 2010-2011

Monica received a Master's in Education with Public and Waldorf Teacher Certification from Antioch New England Graduate School. Her undergraduate work was at Sonoma State College. Miss Marshall has been a Waldorf teacher for 27 years, with 11 years at MWS. This is her fourth trip through the grades. Miss Marshall teaches in the Waldorf Teacher Training Programs at Antioch New England Graduate School and at Rudolf Steiner College. Monica has also served as mentor in other Waldorf schools. She spent two summers in South Africa training teachers and working in Waldorf schools before the fall of Apartheid. Music, hiking, travel, gardening, cooking, and crafts are some of Miss Marshall’s outside interests.

Kevin McGuigan: Seventh Grade Teacher 2010-2011

Kevin completed undergraduate work at Allegheny College and received his Waldorf Teacher Training at Antioch New England Graduate School. Mr. McGuigan has taught for over 18 years, with 16 at MWS. He also served the school as an administrator for one year. Kevin's pre-teaching experience includes such diverse occupations as apple growing, archeology, and carpentry. He enjoys music, nature, mountain biking, and reading.

Signe Motter: Eighth Grade Teacher 2010-2011

Signe received an undergraduate degree in Norway (emphasis on Foreign Language, History and the Arts). She completed Waldorf Teacher Training at Antioch New England Graduate School. Mrs. Motter is a graduate of the Remedial Teacher Program of the Association for Healing Education. One of the Founding Teachers of Monadnock Waldorf School, Signe has taught at MWS for 29 years. She has many interests outside the classroom including music, handwork, theater, reading, and cross-country skiing.

Bruce Elliot: Choir and Music Teacher

Bruce Elliot received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Hartt School of Music, where he was invited to join the National Music Honor Society. He received a Master of Education degree with Waldorf Certification from Antioch New England Graduate School. Bruce has played his saxophone around the country and around the world. As a music teacher, Bruce has offered individual music instruction to students of all ages, including as an adjunct faculty member at Hartt School of Music. Bruce was a class teacher with Monadnock Waldorf School and we are delighted to have him with us now in our music program. Bruce lives in Keene with his wife and three children.

Jacqueline Bellamy: French Teacher

Jacqueline received a Bachelor's Degree from Vermont College. Madame Bellamy has taught for 18 years, beginning as a Kindergarten Assistant. She has taught her native language at MWS for 14 years. Jacqueline contributes to the success of school plays by serving as prompter and director of make-up. She spends time outside of the classroom reading literature, making dolls, and gardening.

Janet Gordon: Handwork and Art Teacher

Janet received a Bachelor's Degree in American Studies from the University of South Florida and a Master's in Education from Antioch New England Graduate School. One of the Founding Teachers of Monadnock Waldorf School, Janet has taught at MWS for 30 years. She supports all class teachers in handwork and painting activities. Mrs. Gordon forms a special bond with children grades four and up, working in many arts media.

Peter Schoen: Physical Education and Movement Teacher

Peter received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Waldorf training in sculpture at Emerson College, Sussex, England. In the mid-eighties, Peter taught artistic blocks in Waldorf schools in the Northeast, including two at MWS. Before moving to New Hampshire in 2002, Peter was a faculty member for 12 years at Hawthorne Valley Waldorf School in Ghent, New York where he taught shop, modeling, arts and crafts, and main lesson blocks in the high school. He has coached volleyball and is an avid tennis player. Peter enjoys many other outdoor activities including skiing, mountain climbing, and backpacking.

Hans van Riel: Woodworking, Physics, Film and Photography, Theatre Lighting

Hans received undergraduate and graduate degrees in the Netherlands. A former high school teacher, Mr. van Riel has taught at MWS for 18 years of his total of 30 years in teaching. He has taught grades 6 through 8 twice and now, as Specialty Teacher, Hans is considered by many as the Renaissance Man of MWS. Outside the classroom, Mr. van Riel shares his musical talents (clarinet) at assemblies, the Crafts Fair, festivals, and parties. He serves as part of the Building Committee and has left many marks by his design or hand on our new addition.

Nell Wiener: Music Teacher

Nell received her Bachelor's Degree in Music from Wellesley College. Nell has a variety of experience with youth and children's choirs. As a viola player, she has been part of the Wellesley-Brandeis Orchestra as well as the Pioneer Symphony Orchestra in her home town of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Mi-Young Ahn: Eurythmy Teacher

Mi-Young was born and raised in Ulsan, South Korea. She received a degree in Computer Science from Pohang University of Science and Technology. After a career in the high tech field, she was introduced to Waldorf Education and has recently completed her Eurythmy Training at Rudolf Steiner College in Fair Oaks, California. She is also working toward her Waldorf Teacher certification through Touro University. Mi-Young lives in Keene with her two children.
