Nursery-Kindergarten Faculty

  Betsi McGuigan, Lead Teacher, Lily of the Valley Class  Betsi has been an educator for over 30 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Idaho, and a Master’s degree in Waldorf education for both the grades and early childhood from Antioch University New England. She has been a Waldorf early educator at the Waldorf School of Cape Cod, Pine Hill Waldorf School, and for nearly 14 years at the Monadnock Waldorf School where she was known and loved for her warmth, ready laugh, thoughtful teaching, gifted parent work, and deep knowledge of the Waldorf curriculum. Betsi currently serves on the board at Sophia’s Hearth Family Center. Betsi lives in Keene with her husband, Kevin.
     
 

Michelle Brooks, Lead teacher, Morning Glory Class Michelle received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Anna Maria College and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley College. In 2006 Michelle completed the Waldorf Early Childhood Education program at Sunbridge College in New York. She was a founding teacher at the Village School in Royalston, Massachusetts. Michelle lives in Roxbury with her family.


 

 

   

 

     
  Amanda Vaine  Amanda received a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary/Early Childhood Education from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. While in college, Amanda was active as a kindergarten assistant, and completed her student teaching at the Susquehanna Waldorf School in Pennsylvania. Amanda grew up in Winchester, New Hampshire and is glad to be back close to her roots.

  Libby Haddock, Parent/Child program Libby has been teaching young children for more than 30 years. For nine years Libby taught at the Well School in Peterborough, NH and for 20 years she taught full-time at Monadnock Waldorf School. Since her retirement from full-time teaching, Libby has been serving as a mentor for Waldorf Early Childhood teachers in schools throughout New England and mentors students in the Early Childhood Program at Sunbridge Institute in Spring Valley, N.Y. Libby's kindergarten training was completed at Forrest Row in Sussex, England in 1991. Libby completed a three-year training program in puppetry and performs along with head teacher Anne as part of the Cobb Meadow Puppeteers. Libby served on the board of Sophia's Hearth Family Center for 10 years and is an ongoing board member at Cobb Meadow. She and her late husband, Jim Haddock, are the parents of three sons and eight lovely grandchildren. Libby loves toy-making, gardening, searching for wild mushrooms, travel and, most of all, children.
